I would hope drod plans on continuing with the current version path. I think that a new major version would be due for a new framework. So in my perfect versioning world, I hope he starts with 2.0 when he starts building with the new OTA build.

Drod's INTENTION is for 2.0 to be his AOSP build... Whether that happens or not is highly dependent on the progress he makes and the support he has.
