Anyone point me in the right direction? I'm trying to find the right recovery...and also figure out how to update to jellybean kernel so I can flash custom jellybean ROMs.

Go to the Support sub forum next door and read the sticky posted by FoxKat. Read that sticky very carefully it will instruct you on how to get the "leaked JB" on your razr. After you have done that then you can download and install a number of custom recovery apps from the Play Store...ROM Manager, GOO Manager etc. I'd also consider SafeStrap if you're interested in flashing ROMs.
