My buttons quit working

Recently I threw my dx and shattered the lcd. Smart I know. Well I changed the lcd out but now only one of my buttons work. The home back and search buttons light up but do nothing. I must say its getting pretty lame to have to pop my battery every time I have to get back to the home screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

there's an app on the market called button savior, it requires root but it puts software buttons on the screen to replace broken hardware buttons
