Bad echo while talking on fascinate

I've seen many threads online about poor sound quality and echos while talking. I've swapped out two units now and have this on both. Will this ever be fixed? Verizon claims it's not a known issue. The solutions I see online about battery pulls and 228 do not work. Is there any hope that this phone will ever be as clear as my old bberry curve?
