It appears that Verizon is doing a bit better at getting Android updates pushed out to devices on their network in a more timely manner; however, they are still slow compared to other carriers. Check this list out:
  1. Droid Turbo 2
  2. Droid Maxx 2
  3. HTC One M8
  4. HTC One M9
  5. LG V10
  6. LG G4
  7. LG G3
  8. LG G Pad 8.3
  9. Samsung Galaxy S6
  10. Samsung Galaxy S6 edge
  11. Samsung Galaxy Note 5
  12. Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+
  13. Samsung Galaxy S5
That's the total number of Android devices which have received the Marshmallow update through Big Red. What do you folks think? Do they need to step up their game even further? Perhaps they could still do better...

They were definitely slower with releasing Marshmallow, but with Jellybean, KitKat and Lollipop, they were much better. Hopefully they aren't sliding back into their old ways.
That said, I think they're doing pretty good considering the fact that they are pushing out Marshmallow to 2 y/o devices such as the S5. We would have never seen that happen a year or two ago. Most devices these days are lucky to receive one major update....

Samsung gets credit for the S5, not VZW. Aren't the S7's on M, as well?

On other carriers they are, but I don't think Verizon has vetted the update yet.

I swear my wife's S7 had M out of the box, but maybe I'm nuts. Maybe it's just the latest touchwiz scale-back. I'll have to check when she gets home from work.

I am not defending Verizon by any means, but it's hard to compare that list to "other carriers". How many AT&T brands are on Marshmallow? Sprint & T Mobile? I think they can all do better, no doubt about that. But to me, that's not a bad list of Marshmallow devices for big red.

Marshmallow broke my wifi. Had to set dev options to use lollipops version of dhcp >_>. Honestly haven't seen a reason to update other than doze? My g4 was much better on lollipop.

And my Moto X 2nd gen is not on any upgrade list which is why I am abandoning both Motorola and Verizon and my unlimited for Nexus and Project Fi
