google synchronization not syncing groups in contacts

My Devour has never synchronized my contacts in my gmail account.

1. I will never get the permanent groups that are in my contacts. I am talking about the groups that you can not delete that google puts in your contacts.

2. No contact is ever shows on the phone in any group that I make and put them in unless they are in the 'My Contacts" group.

I also am wondering is this is not limited to the Devour also.

Every phone that has Motoblur won't sync groups with gmail. Even the Droid X. Yeah, it sucks.
