asus nexus 7 stuck on google load screen

i have a first gen asus nexus 7 tablet that when on turned goes to the google boot screen then gets stuck on the spinning balls screen right after. does anybody know of any fix for this

Look up Nexus root toolkit. It's an all in one firmware, root, recovery program. Follow the instructions on screen to reflash the firmware and see if that helps.

Wouldn't definitely check out the toolkit @GoCliffGo05 suggested, I used it years ago when I used my N7 on a regular basis.

Also I would stay on older firmware, as I found out the latest OS would slowdown my N7 quite a bit. I think I put mine back to Jellybean in fact cause it ran the smoothest.
