I can almost guarantee you Verizon will just give you a courtesy credit for the 3 cents or whatever it is and you will just look like a cheap moron.

Nope, you put up a fight hard enough mentioning that the ONLY reason you're leaving is due to the regulatory charge and they'll let you go.

Sprint did this same thing at the beginning of 2010 and that's how I cancelled my contract to get the Droid 1. dancedroid
 
Nice try. Verizon will just credit you the three cents for the remainder of your contract.

Don't try it. You will look cheap, you will waste your time, and Verizon will laugh.

No. It won't work all. If you port your number before the end of your contract, VZW will charge you the etf minus the 0.03 monthly credit for the rest of your contract.
