Plug your X to the pc, swype down, pick usb connection then choose, USB Mass Storage, click ok. Swype again, click usd debugging connected, uncheck usb debugging...

usb debugging, as the setting category implies, for software developers to effect special circumstances to test their software.

Also i noticed the newest 4.5 driver didn't allow my pc to see my X.

hOPE tHIS hELPS!

Also make sure you have the correct usb drivers installed. Go to the Motorola support page for Droid X and download the latest drivers.

Check to see if there's a drive letter needed

This worked for me -- there was no drive letter assigned to the drive:
1. Open Disk Management (Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management->Disk Management)
2. See if there's a disk drive listed at the top with no drive letter. If there is, right-click the drive and select Change Drive Letters and Paths...; then select Add..., and give it a new drive letter.

Man, I can't thank you enough!. Ever since I got my X about 3 weeks ago, it never would recognize my memory card("Memory card missing.") until I played around with your Disk Management suggestion. I didn't need to give it a new letter(showed as 'F' drive), just needed to load the drivers.

VZW gave me a new memory card and when it got the same message, the tech said to get a warranty replacement phone. I didn't want to let go of this one as its volume is loud compared to others.

Thanks again.
