I'm not completely new to rooting, I have my Bionic and OGRazr rooted and flashed. But on my MAXX HD I've had some trouble. So I reverted back to 4.0 then rooted and installed voodoo root keeper and safe strap. Made sure safe strap was installed and root keeper saved su files and temp unroot. I updated 4.0 successfully, but when I dl the 4.1 update it fails to install. If I unroot and do the updates JB works fine. Any suggestions? Thanks

Could safe strap be the issue? When I had the HD for the brief moment I had it for, I rooted, Voodoo backup, then temp unroot, took the JB update, used VooDoo to restore root and I was fine, my difference, was that I never had safestrap installed at all. If you are rooted on JB, you should be able to install safestrap after you update right?

Yea, safestrap is meant to be used on JB. Mac is right, go back to 4.0.4, take the 6 mb system update, root, protect root, temp unroot, take JB OTA, then restore root, then safestrap.

You have to root... then temp unroot... before JB. Pretty sure there is not JB root exploit yet.

Well I went back to 4.0 to try above recommendations and now I can't root. I get an error saying multiple devices or emulators connected. I'm back on 4.1, just stock.
