Easy root has serious issues do the link in the OP to install SPR then just install a Custom Rom to gain root

Just root and install Rom Manager.

I believe if you install P3's leaked version of FRG01B it will root your dorid upon installation. No pre rooting necessary and you can do it using SPRecovery via RSD Lite.

That's how my Droid got rooted.

If you have questions or do not have a clue. STOP...too many people are using quick roots, easyroot, and not knowing what is going on. In my signature are two links, one is about rooting the other are where to find custom roms. Read that and ask questions before taking the plunge.
