Why? Why can I stream porn on my phone but not flash?

Porn developers have done it again, just browsing around I came across an AP that will stream full porn videos to my phone. The only problem with this is I DON'T WANT TO WATCH PORN! I'd rather just stream decent content onto my phone which seems impossible. Youtube has content, but it is CONVENIENTLY breaks it up into 1/5th chunks. Very useful...

Does YouTube do that on the PC as well? I was watching a video on something for the Droid the other day, and it was in like 4 parts. I thought that was intentional, but almost all of them cut the guy off in mid-sentence, then the next one back-tracked just a little bit.

Pretty ridiculous...I understand they probably have to do that because of bandwidth or something...But couldn't we get an app to splice them all (close to) seamlessly together or something?

Don't go to town on the subject of porn, or this thread will get shut-down...Lol...But seriously, please don't. This is a good thread topic.

I am not discussing anything other than the excuses that are made, the unmentionable industry can get a fully functional streaming client (looks like in a standard browser) over night it seems, but the regular community is WAITING AND WAITING...

Anything we can do about the 1/5 chunks in the standard YOUTUBE clips? Nothing is over 10 minutes it seems...

I've watched enough videos on the youtube app, and it's never broken mine into 5 parts.. ever. Albeit i don't watch 2 hour videos on it either. Usually my videos are between 1 and 20 minutes. It doesn't matter whether it is low quality or high quality.

I think what the porn people use is html5 <video> tag players rather than flash. Eventually everyone will move toward offering the html video players and flash, but for now flash is easier. At least until someone offers a free/cheap html player to use.

Good info! I am interested in alternatives to this flash problem! I don't care about flash, I just want good content!

Just did another 7 minute vid, and it worked fine, and did not break it up into 5 parts. Once the flash app is finished you will be able to stream good content to your phone all day long.

Yeah, like I said anything over 10 minutes seems to be broken up, I am not sure, but I don't know many TV shows that are 7 minutes...

Can anyone start a list of HTML5 sites! We might be on to something here!

You can join the html5 beta on youtube at youtube.com/html5

Also I know Vimeo.com is doing a beta. Just find a video on their site and click the Switch to html5 link under the video.

I read in another thread here, or maybe it was the video on droid-life.com with 25 Droid tips, that he wanted to do it in less than 10 minutes because that is the Youtube limit for video length. If so then it is Youtube, not your phone, that is the limitation.

YouTube TOS limits videos to 10 minutes. Some exceptions are made for certain content providers. You or I can only upload 10 minute clips.

Yes, exactly. I know it is a 10 minute limit, then WHY NOT GIVE US AN ALTERNATIVE! God, the defunct googlevideo was better than that. Youtube is useless unless you want to watch clips of people getting kicked in the nuts...

Hey, Youtube definitely has alternatives to watching folks get kicked there
