Why does EVO get Froyo so quick?

Glad for my buddies with EVO's bubt am wondering why they can get Froyo so quick. Both phones are HTC's running sense, right?

I am not dying to get Froyo, and am pretty pleased with my Incredible (other than it all of the sudden taking 8-10 seconds to open text messaging??) but I am just curious why the difference in Froyo release dates.

No it really has nothing to do with the Incredible. Its verizon. They are quite a bit more strict then sprint when it come to upgrades. Why do you think our root took a bit longer. They are usually the last carrier to push an update out.

If you are on VZW get used to it.

In response to the lag on opening text messages, I have an Inc and noticed when a thread contained more than about 300 messages it would take very long to open. If you delete the thread a new one will open a lot faster...

This is the correct answer. Verizon tries very hard to work the bugs out before an OTA rolls. For lack of a better term, they're in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. If they roll it out fast full of bugs, they're screwed. If they take longer to verify everything and test as much as possible, they're screwed. Kinda a no win situation.

Noticed that with my Blackberry too so I am not getting to excited waiting for Froyo.
