What to do with my D1 after I retire it

I've had my D1 over a year now and I'm thinking of retiring it. However, it is still a nice piece of hardware, I'd hate for it to just sit there.

Are there any ROMs out there that disable things like the phone and data service so I can use it only on Wifi? Essentially turning it into a PDA of old..

Why not just turn on airplane mode? BT won't work, of course, but wifi will.

I keep my D1 on my sidetable docked in my family room so I can browse the web, chat, play games, jot down todos and cal events that sync to my DInc real quick while my wife watches the Food Network.

If you retire it by cancelling your plan with your Droid, there's no need to disable the phone and data since they won't work anyway without a plan.

I rooted mine and use it for a wireless tether. Yesterday I left my DX at work so I used my D1 for an emergency/back-up phone too. Of course if you do that, you have to maintain two phone numbers (not necessarily the cheapest thing to do).
