What is BusyBox?

I've seen it in some of the apps I have, and I've heard some people talking about it but I'm not quite sure what it is and what its function is and if its something I should have lol so can anyone enlighten me on this subject???

Anyone wanna help me out here, I googled it but didn't find too many detailed descriptions so I figured someone on here would definitely know and be able to fully explain what busybox is and what its for/does
