What app will test Windows media player streaming

Having trouble with my home theatre accessing my media on my PC. I have wifi, and would like to use my phone to see if it is the home theatre or Windows media player.
Is there a media player I can use that needs wmp to be working on the PC?

AFAIK there are no apps the depend on WMP. You should be able to use a DLNA music player (Like KODI) to test if the tunes are accessible over the network.
