weather channel appeared

I have a LG droid from verizon.
Weather Channel and wikipedia icons showed up on my phone. I did not request them and I cannot find them on manage apps.

Also, can I get rid of slacker and tetris? They came with the phone, I never use them, and I don't want to run low on space.

That's the MAIN reason why I root. Removing bloatware is the sole reason for me. I can live with stock ROM s but I cannot stand Bloatware. The phones should always be allowed to remove that Crap. I get the fact its on to show off features but after you BUY it it is yours and you should be able to delete it freely without having to void warranties. Not everyone wants slacker and NFL app and that stuff.

So are you saying that I am stuck with these? I do not have a lot of apps, but I am already getting messages that I am out of sorage.

And what does "root" mean?
