Ways to speed up phone?

My home screen just seems too laggy. I click on an app and it takes a couple seconds to open it, and I switch between pages and it's all choppy. I use ATK once in a while but that doesn't seem to help at all. Any ideas?

Sounds like some app running that is slowing you down. Mine is extremely fast in all areas. I am using GDE as a home replacement, but the original version is also fast. I assume you did a battery pull?

You've got an app or two not playing well with others. On my phone it was Swype, Home++, Weather Bug an occasionally Launcher2. Pretty frustrating because I loved Swype and Home++ but they both slowed my phone dramatically. Others use those programs with no lag, so YMMV.

My phone has been real laggy. I just uninstalled home++ and it runs a lot smoother. Thanks for the tip bayou.

Ok here are all my apps. I have swype installed but don't use it. Should I just uninstall it?

I have seen on more than one forum that Swype will slow you down some. Pure Calendar widget slowed down my Droid as well.

What apps do you have installed?

I use atk with autokill and end google voice in running applications and mine runs butter smooth. i also only have 4 widgets which are youtube,2 picture frames and 2.1 genie

I'm curious, are these issues due to limitations of the hardware, or poorly optimized apps?

Poor optimization. The Droid is nowhere near at the limit of what the hardware can do.

If the issue is intermittent then it is most likely a app problem.

if the issue is consistent the it is most likely a hardware capacity issue.
