Warranty with Verizon

rootting a droid x voids the warranty doesn't it.
If I need to turn it in for repairs or replacement can I just delete the program files?

Technically, you need to unroot. Also, I'd read more on the forum before asking questions... Some problems can be solved using nothing more than patience and research - not always in that order.

If you are going through insurance, which is third party, there is no need to worry. Asurion or whichever company does your phone insurance wipes the phone completely before they do anything else with it.

If it is a warranty claim, stop, Sbf, and make sure the phone has no remnants of root or a custom recovery before you even attempt to make a warranty claim. This is in bad taste though, as it is technically cheating verizon and motorola/htc/samsung/whoever

if manufacturer warranty problem persists after sbf, there should be no "bad taste" about returning a previously rooted handset.
why should those wanting root access be "cheated" by poor craftsmanship?
