Volume Automatically Goes Down

I got my phone wet once, but after putting it in rice it got fixed. However, the volume a lot of the time automatically decreases as if I'm holding down the minus volume button. I've downloaded a few apps that reset the volume after a tiny while, but I'm wondering if there's a way to either a) fix the problem, or b) download an app that actually DISABLES volume change instead of just correcting them. I am having the same problem. Have you tried changing headphones? That is my next step.
I have only experienced it with Google Play Music. HAve you experienced it with another player? We need to determine if this is hardware/software/firmware.
