Verizon / Motorola Droid X Launch Event 10:00 PST

Today's the big day for the Motorola Droid X! The Verizon / Motorola combined launch event begins at 10:00PST. You can follow a couple of live blogs at Engadget.com or follow our friends at Droid-Life.com.

We can expect some big names at the event:

* Verizon Wireless VP, John Stratton
* Google CEO, Eric Schmidt
* Google VP, Andy Rubin
* Motorola CEO, Sanjay Jha
* Adobe CEO, Shantanv Narayen

...will have Wifi tethering and hotspot. The hotspot will be $20 extra a month plus 5cents per MB charge for overages. Unlimited data on the phone itself for $30.
 
...Android 2.1 will ship on it, with Motoblur. Motoblur has been "dramatically" changed based on feedback...whatever that means!
 
allowing anyone to upgrade that would be eligible in 2010 was a good move to bad i cant till 2011..

I think Verizon/Google is releasing a really good product the only reason i am thinking about upgrade is HDMI out..

now question for all.. Has google/Verizon locked this phone to the point of not being able to load custom roms on this..how hard is root going to be able to obtain.. and will they make app for WIFI tether to come off phone data plan or the 2 gig cap for tethering.

I know only time will tell..
