Is this safe? Crazy? How different is the Droid 2 Global from the Droid 2? I realize the GSM radio, but is other hardware different enough that it needs a different set of kernel drivers and supporting libraries in its own special rom? I'm specifically thinking of trying cdma_droid2 from CyanogenMod Mirror Network - Powered by TDRevolution on my Droid 2 Global Can anyone provide a better link to download the latest Cyanogenmod (or other roms) for Droid 2 Global?

The radio is different, period. DROID2 ROMs require certain patches and such to be able to run on a D2G.

There is a CM7 port for D2G. The Froyo version is considered stable, the GB one — not so much (as it still has issues with GSM).

Refer to Droid 2 Global Developer Forum.
