To the best of my knowledge this cannot be done but I want to ask specifically about the Droid. I have done a similar thread in the off topic post and I'm not trying to spam the boards, I would just like a direct answer if it can be done with the Droid.

You mean as a Genuine RS-232 type modem?

He just wants to be able to hook his lap top up so he can get electronic signatures for his business. If Droid can do this by tethering then that's the way to go.

Can I get a few details about tethering a Droid? What's the cost, etc. I've know there are quite a few threads on this but I've never understood what it was about as I have no need to do this but I'd sure like to help my brother out.

Search the market for PDANet and begin tethering away for free. You just cant access https websites, need to pay for that.
