USB help now!

I watched youtube videos and stuff but it's all pointless because every time they plug in that Universal Serial Bus something at least pops up on their PC. Nothing pops up on mine!
It's annoying and I'm not real tech heavy with these files and crap and it's killing me.

ALL I want to do really is get Google Earth on my phone, and I've been following the google earth thread but no one answered my question so far.

I can't transfer the APK I downloaded from my PC to my phone, because nothing pops up when I plug the USB in.

Help.

Did you mount the SD card using the notification? Are the motorola drivers installed?

You could transfer the file with BT, or e-mail it to yourself.....

Of course I mounted it lol

And I checked the USB debugging and Stay awake options under settings>Application>development
..I was told that would help, but still nothing.

What do you mean motorola drivers and BT?
And email myself what? Sorry you lost me with everything at the end.

Thanks!

Pop over to the Moto webpage and download the drivers for your cell phone. Model number A something...

You could use the Bluetooth File Transfer app to send files to the phone, but the easiest thing without working the problem would be....

Use your PC and e-mail the file to yourself in the form of an attachment.

Also, are you perchance using Windows 7? I've heard it's having issues that require a workaround.

I have a windows laptop, but I'll try this emailing myself thing.
So I just go to my email, make it to myself and go to attachments and try and find the google earth apk? All from PC correct then what?

Correct, then open the attachment on the phone. It should prompt you about installing software that's not in the market, and let you proceed.

I thought you weren't suppose to download it directly to the phone? Reading from the Google Earth thread or am I wrong

And this is the same apk I'm emailing myself correct? That I downloaded on my PC?

Yes, it's been modified to run on a non-rooted 2.0.1 phone. If you havent sent it to yourself yet, then the link is just what you want.

Im not sure if thats the right link or not, Im still looking for it, someone posted here and I used it, I downloaded it right to my phone and it works great.. if anyone has the right link please ad..

thanks
