Wife and I upgraded from Droid to Droid X early today and setup the phones to include gmail account info. To our dismay, our applications did not download as we were told at the retail store. Has anyone else experienced this, or are our expectations off? Thanks.
Downloads should have started automatically...if you didn't buy any apps, and you never had autosync on at one point in time to sync up apps with your google account, then this is probably why it happened.
They don't auto download, assigning your gmail merely retains your paid apps. You can use ASTRO File Manager to back them up into your card and move them tho
titans hit the nail on the had. Unfortunately, if you didn't have all your stuff backed up with Google you won't get it back without reactivating your Droids, turning it on, letting it sync up, and then reactivating the Xs. Even then I don't know how effective this will be.

They do actually, every time I'm about to switch/upgrade ROMs, I turn on auto sync, let my phone set for 15 mins, then switch ROMs. My apps autodownload.
