I followed the directions at http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...royo-step-step-installation-2.html#post528613 to run Froyo about 8 days ago. My camera did not work, and I had a bunch of other issues.

I used my
SPRecovery backup to restore to 2.1 update 1 without a problem. Now I have the OTA update trying to install, but it pops into SBrecovery and cannot find an update.zip.

How do I unroot/remove SPRecovery, or point it to the OTA update.zip that is stored somewhere on my phone?

In the stickies right above the hacks thread is your answer.

Thanks, Bill, and I had noted that, but that thread was full of debate and contradictory information.

Meh, I will figure it out.

Post ten there gets you to 2.1 but doesn't unroot the phone and get rid of sprecovery.

To unroot follow the 3rd link in my signature. You can use RSD lite to flash back to stock 2.01, then take the OTAs or manually update to 2.1

My bad. I thought once you got back to 2.1 you were unrooted. Is this not so?

That 3rd link in my signature has option 4, to install a plain stock vanilla version of 2.1 on your phone but SPRecovery remains on the phone.

The sbf file for 2.01 replaces everything, the recovery image, the rom image...all of it with the stock factory 2.01 android set up for the droid 1.

It's all the .01's and .1's that makes it so confusing:)

To clarify further, that sbf 2.1 version is a plain stock version, with Root, so you can use metamorph, apply themes, etc. Its a clean slate starting point for 2.1 and those who want to do their own customizations.

Many thanks, Christim!

Using RSD lite with moto-droid2.01stock.sbf did the trick!

It then immediately download/installed Froyo, now the camera, and other items that did not work under FRG22 work fine. My phone did not sync apps, but I have a clean, factory style Froyo build to play with in the future.
