Im lost! How do you tether your computer straight from your droid x? Computer at work doesn't have wifi and I know it can happen someone said z4root but I don't know where to download it.....please anyone

Welcome! I think there is some confusion. z4root is a tool that roots your phone. Once rooted you can wirelessly tether your phone and computer. Since your particular computer does not support wifi you will need to take a different approach.

There is a free app named PDa.net that allowed you to connect your phone to you computer via the USB cable and access the internet. I believe there is another app but unfortunately I can not recall the name.
