turn off download notifications

Can someoen tell me where i turn off the download notifications from Market?

I would like to know this as well. I'd like to turn off the download sound notification from any application, but allow SMS sound notifications to continue.

From the home screen:

• Touch "Market"
• Touch "Menu"
• Touch "Downloads"
• Touch "Menu"
• Touch "Notifications"
• Select the option you want

You need to do this on an application-by-application basis. When in an application hit the menu button at the bottom of the phone. There should be a settings or preference menu which lets you change the sound or turn it off.

that will only turn off the notifications for when an app that you own is updated.
