Every time I try to download it I get a message "failed download" Is there another place to downloads out from ?

Are you downloading on your phone using the stock browser? If so, that's probably your problem. Try another browser like dolphin hd.

An additional idea: Do you have an app that can handle zip files? If not, Astro is one example.
