Transferring songs from laptop to phone

Can songs be transferred from my Real Downloader on my laptop to my droid razr xt912. If so how do I do this, I am not knowledgeable about computers or smart phones. Thank you.

I just use windows player, put the song on your d drive, hook up your device with your charge cable, select the song, tap sync..

Copy/paste from the computer to the phone. Treat the phone like a memory stick.
