Transfering my videos to DVD

Trying to find out how to get my droidx videos moved to my computer then onto a DVD to play on a TV/DVD player. Are video converters required? I searched and found a lot of DVD to Droid discussions but not the otherway around. I don't see getting them to the computer as a problem as much as putting them on a DVD that is playable to all DVD players.

I use Convert X to DVD. Its pretty good. I think nero and Roxio can do it too.
