Tips on Using Search Function?

OK, i've been using the search feature for all kinds of things on here and have come to the realization that it sucks. I find things much faster going to google and typing it in and then looking droidforums.net

So.....can anyone give me any tips on how to search for something without having to go offsite do it?

Nope, the search function here just sucks. Google really is the best option.
