"This type of media canot be played"

After a few hours of regular usage [can't pin down any specific reason that this would happen] all of my music and videos will give me a "Sorry, this type of media cannot be played" error. The files play normally, but they dont work sometimes and I have to reboot to get them working again. Has anyone had this problem before help me out? Or maybe someone who knows what might be wrong? I'm thinking of just going to trade in my Droid at the store, since I just got it on Sunday.

Odd. Do you have any other files or pictures on your SD card that become unavailable as well?

Taking it back is always an option... might be a fault in the SD card or reading it or who knows.

Well, all of my music and videos are on my SD card. Is there any way I could move them to my phone memory and try to play them from there? I just rebooted my phone about 5 minutes before posting this because I wanted to play a video, but I can try playing a file on my phone's memory the next time this happens.

There's no real way... you wouldn't want to anyway. Your phone only has 256mb to store apps with. All media is saved to your SD card.

May wanna give VZW a call or just swap it out. I haven't had any issue like that. Love this phone.

I brought my Droid back to the Verizon store and the guy there exchanged it in like twenty minutes. He said [and I agree] that it was probably some software issue so he checked if the Dec. 11 update would fix it and when he checked he didn't see this problem on there. He replaced my phone and I finally have a working Droid. :D
