NexTheme - originally by Manup456.
This port is a continuation of the work that bp382i did...

Thank You to Chevyno1 for his continued and highly appreciated support of the Droid 1!! And now the DX, D2, and T-Bolt. Cant speak for the others but SSX is sweet!
I also want to thank es0terricha0s, he is one heck of a guy and a mentor to a noob themer like myself, Thanks Man!!

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE, PLEASE MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE INSTALLING ANY THEME OR ADD-ON!!

Install instructions:
Not instructions exactly. But when I went to install this I noticed my system partition had very little space left and the theme would not apply properly. I deleted where I had around 5mb free and once applied there were only 131kb left. I would recommend having around 7-8mb free to ensure that everything applies and you are not missing parts. More is always better, but less probably will not work.

Whats themed:
Browser, Calculator (icon only), Calendar, CalendarProvider, Camera, Contacts, ContactsProvider, DeskClock, Email,
Gallery3D, GenieWidget, GoogleQuickSearchBox, LatinIME, Mms, Music, Phone, Settings, SystemUI, Talk, and Framework!!

The Downloads:

[Links Removed]

Both of these are zip files intended to be flashed through recovery and I have tested them both on RZR but they should work on any!!

Warning!!
Just kidding, not really a warning. But my D1 is no longer active so I have not run this theme for an extended time, just tested it to make sure things work. If you find something messed up let me know, I cant fix it if I dont know there is an issue.

Most importantly Enjoy!!

I must be doing something Wrong, B/C I can't get the Theme on?

JSM9872,

I want you to know I love your theme. When I was running SS 5.4 it was the icing on the cake that was the perfect compement.

When I upgraded to SS 5.5 I excited for the update, but saddened that the look & Feel was gone.

So i was ecstatic to hear you were going to update/port your them for the new version of SS.

However, when i tried installing it (Booting into Recovery, and installing the ZIP file), nothing changed.

While i'm getting better at ROM flashing, I'm not quite there when it comes to theme skinning.

I know there was an issue previously when trying to skin the 'un-themed' version of SS 5.4. I was currently on the themed version of 5.5 when trying to apply your theme, but to no avail.

I know you are lacking a D1, but do you (or anyone else) have any ideas why it didn't work (and I apologize that I don't have more info that might help in determining why). And/or has anyone else been able to apply this theme (and did you have any issues)?

Any advice/thoughts/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks;

A (Nextless) Bug :S

Well thank you for the words and support!

How much free space did you have in your system partition when you flashed the theme? You will need to have at least 6mb free but more would be even better.

PMJSM9872;

I checked, and I've got 32.36MB of free memory on the device itself (I assume this is what you mean by system memory).

Unless I've monkeyed with one of those memory settings that Chevy puts in/on his ROMs -- but I don't think so.

Curious :?

No not quite. Do you use titanium backup or root explorer by chance?

Ok well I'm going to bed now. If you use either of those apps you can see how much free space you have in system.

If you have titanium, if not its free from market, open it up and on the first page toward the bottom it will say a few things. Next to system in the ()'s will be a number. That is how much you have free in system. I originally said at least 5 but I'm revising that to 7mb. I just reflashed it and 7mb free let me flash with no problems.

Were going to get this to work don't worry lol.

Love the theme! Thanks for your hard work!
I had about 10 mb's free before and about 4.65mb's afterwards. Good call on having at least 6mb's :D

Awesome port JSM! One thing did happen after flashing, for some reason my K9 Mail app disappeared! But a quick re-install from market fixed that. Thanks again!

Excellent, glad it worked and thanks for the verification!

I actually sat here testing different amounts free in 0.5mb intervals, which probably sounds worse then it actually was. Titanium is a great tool to do it with so it wasnt too bad. As it turns out it installed around 6.5 but I figured make the suggested a bit more to be safe.

Thank you!

Very strange that K-9 did that. Was it in system or data? Either way I am glad it is working now, just curious as to why it disappeared. Gotta love android!

Ok, I was a bit confused. I checked my Titanium and sure enough I've only got 2.69MB free. So that does explain it. Now my question is how do i clean that up. I'm guessing I do a complete wipe and re-install? I already cleaned out the Davlik (three times) and the data cache (three times). Not sure what else to do other than a full wipe. But if that's what it takes, it's worth it :).

I'm open to suggestions, but otherwise I'll do the wipe tonight (most likely).

Thanks again for the great theme and the help.

No wiping that stuff will not help. If you do a full wipe and reinstall you will actually end up in the same predicament and not be able to install.

What you actually need to do it use titanium to delete some of the stuff in system (apps in red). I always delete a number of apps that I do not use right off the bat. You just have to be careful to not delete something important, although if you did you could always just restore a nandroid or something (whcih you should make before attempting this). If you would like I can compile a list of things I delete and do not run into issues.
