In the world of art the tool itself can often be the inspiration for creation. Whether it’s the deep shadows of charcoal, the depth and sheen of oil, or even the feedback from an electric guitar, any artist can tell you about a medium’s properties taking them to a destination.
Diatom takes that notion and lets it run amok with their digital illustration app FlowPaper. It’s a unique take on digital drawing that lets physics do some of the heavy lifting. It’s a whole new brush, one that has a life of it’s own. One that can produce anything from a single line to an entire multi-colored twisting wave of smoke. An amatuer could easily make a stunning wallpaper, in the hands of a professional however, the possibilities become endless.
