text notification won't go away!

I got a text and I can't read it and the notification won't go away and my light keeps blinking. I've tried what seems like everything. Anyone else have this problem? What can I do?

Have you download Handcent or Chomp SMS recently?

I only have that happen if I flick the notification bar and then don't read it. Try to fc the app and see if that clears it or just clear your notifications. What text app are you running?

I've come across the same problem. I'm not using Chomp, or the other 3rd part txt program. Running 2.1 no modding.

I've tried the following:

- clearing the messaging data in the applications menu
- pulling the battery
- clearing the notification
- deleting the contact attached to the persistent notification

All of this has failed to remedy the problem,
