Sync issues with Droid X on a 64 bit os (Vista)

Guys, I'm frustrated. My Toshiba laptop os is 64bit and it won't let me download the verizon software. I'd like to sync with Outlook, particularly contacts and then be able to edit them but I can't right now.

Could someone please give me a quick tutorial?
