hi all, ive joined up to share some issues and maybe get some help before I either A put the phone throigh the wall via throwing it at said wall really hard or B sending in to be repaired. B is less preferable because in ireland when u send a phone for repair it disappears for 6 weeks and comes back with the line "we couldnt find any problem with the handset we upgraded the software and maybe its a carrier issue. just to start ive had a few iphones which I jailbroke and made them a lil more bareable and as soon as droid hardware caught up (my opinion) via the galaxy s2 I jumped ship. I love love love droids. much better than apple. cept this here s3. its slow at times move from apps to home screen and at times it freezes for 10 seconds or more. there was the whole problem with songs jumping while playing which is sorted but now when I try to open my gallery via any app ie whatsapp to attach a photo, it simply wont open its just blank. and yes I im completely up to date firmware wise. its infuriating. This here dohicky is supposed to have like a quad core processor. now forgive me if im wrong but quad means 4 right? well I think only one the runt of the litter is working and the other 3 or off picking their noses or scratching their asses or something. cos they sure aint helping to operate my phone which at times is like a handicapped flip flop its so slow. so now anyone else feel the same? anyone got any suggestions or is it just that this particular offering from samsung is as useful as a dead fish in a sword fight?:icon_ devil:

For the small amount of time I owned the S3 (verizon version, so it's a dual core) it was smooth and pretty darn fast. It ran much smoother than my Nexus did even with one of the smoothest ROMs out at the time. Jellybean wasn't available for the s3 at the time though, so maybe that has something to do with it?

The problems that you seem to be having could be caused by having too many apps or background data going. Another case may be you have a rogue app that could be slowing down your phone and disrupting other apps. You can try downloading an app monitor such as Gsam battery monitor that lets you see what apps are being used the most.

If I were you I would try a factory reset if the problems persist. I rather start over than deal with the constant annoyances of what you're going through. Before that I would try the process of elimination and deleting any apps you aren't using as much and looking at apps that take up alot of the phone's use.

ive not got a whole load of apps on it and the slowing and hanging while changing screens has been happening pretty much from day one. I had a lot more stuff on my s2 and it smoothly handled everything. And I did forget to mention that this brick also loses network and just tells me its not registered on network quite a bit which is a problem lots of others are experiencing. and quite often it displays a missed call but the phone hasnt actuslly rang. or it just wont allow calls through.
