When the Sony Xperia Z debuted at CES earlier this month, it was taken through a few trials to show off its durability, including having water poured on it and being dropped from waste height. In the above video the Sony Xperia Z gets a bit rougher treatment, and comes out without a scratch. At different points in the video, the vlogger actually rubs sand across the phone, bangs the device on the side of the bath-tub and submerges it in the bathtub water.

If you don't speak Italian much of the video may be a bit boring, but other features are also shared for the device besides its toughness. If you can understand the language, please share some of the details, so the rest of us can join in too!

If you don't understand what he is saying, you are not missing much, he only speaks about the specs of the phone, the glass, how can it be used with one hand, and the use of the stamina mode to save battery (it turns of all the data traffic to the phone while it is in stand by mode)

Would have given this phone serious consideration were it not for those vile ugly space wasting on-screen buttons.

All android phones going forward have the on-screen buttons. Gonna have to get used to it.

they may waste screen real estate, however they save the size of the phone, it makes it possible for a true bezel-less display with true edge to edge screen, and the on screen buttons can be turned of in some instances.

a 5 inch screen is super nice if it has no bezel...

From what I have been reading the Xperia Z has only support for up to 32 GB micro SD card, why no 64 GB micro SD card support.

But a big, ugly, laggy, iPhone copycat home button is MUCH more appealing right? Talk about wasting space...
