Social Networking Widget "Set Your Status" issue

Weird question here folks, but there may be a rational answer, so I thought I'd throw it out.

For the "Set Your Status" Motorola Social Networking Widget on the Droid 2, when you go to set your status and begin typing, something very annoying (at least to me) happens. When you get to the end of the line (the white window), the "cursor" or "selected area" automatically jumps to the area below it, not allowing you to keep going on to a second line of text. Instead, you have to tap the entry window or press the up arrow to get the cursor back to the entry window.

Maybe there is a reason for this that I'm missing, but it's very annoying to get half-way through a post only to realize it's no longer in the entry window, forcing you to retype several words.

Anyone else feel my pain, know a fix, or have an explanation?
