azam is one of those amazing apps that is a great party trick. The problem is, when it gets more obscure, its very difficult. How often do you need to know the name of a song? How often does it happen to be you can get close enough to the speaker to hear that? Awesome app, but not entirely useful.
Do you use it on you android phone? this is one of my favorite apps on Android so here I am presenting it. Have you ever heard a song on the radio but you didn’t know which song it was, well "Shazam" is there to help you identify the music track.

I love this app! (fortunately, I had it on there before they moved to the new model, so I'm grandfathered in :) ). I actually use it quite a bit -- one of the things I use it for is the 80's station I listen to on my DirecTV feed. Sometimes I'll here a song that I love and can't remember the info for it. If it's past the part where they show artist/song/album at the beginning, this is a great way to find that out.

Also fun is when you're in the car with the wife and a song comes on and neither one of you is quite sure who it is...pull out the phone and there you have it! (mostly).

its not free anymore so i get along without it
Downloaded this back in November, I can't believe they started charging for it

It was coming, unfortunately. This is the way the iPhone app is. At the time, the Android phone was lagging behind the iPhone app. I figured once we had most/all the features of the iPhone app, the price model would be the same.

I discovered this when a friend with a 3GS told me the app was limited to 5songs/mo. I hadn't heard of that and went to the Shazam FAQ and, sure enough, there was a limit on the iPhone app but none on the Android. I figured it was only a matter of time.
