setup for widget is in the middle of screen

I really don't know where it came from, but it is in the middle of my screen. I do not know how to remove it. It is a pic. of a gear and it says setup. Can anyone help me , please?

I am brand new at this!!

Press and hold it until you see the trash can appear at the top and drag it up there and it will be gone.
