I am trying to get AndFTP to work on my phone. I am running Filezilla on my PC and I am able to connect to it for about 5 seconds haha. The following is what I have done/the results. Please help me with this if you can.

Set a static internal IP (192.186.0.10).
Forwarded Port 21 for same IP on wireless router

AndFTP fields:
Hostname: External IP (XX.XXX.XXX.XXX)
Type: FTP
Port: 21
Username: (Ben)
Password: Password
Local dir: /sdcard
Remote dir: /

Under Advanced, if I select Passive Mode, the phone connects and this is the result in Filezilla:

(000019) 3/1/2010 22:04:02 PM - (not logged in) (97.12.27.94)> Connected, sending welcome message...

Sounds like the firewall code on your router is not happy with the way AndFTP is implementing passive mode. Check the logs on your router. I'll bet you find something there.

i've been using ftpserver on the phone with a negear range max wireles n gigabit router... never had a problem, never even crossed my mind that i would possibly have router issues, but that is logical that it might be your problem

I have the exact same problem on my phone. When i originally tired to connect from firefox i got that message. However after assigning ports for active, the connection began to work from firefox, but i still cant get it to work on my droid

I have the exact same issue. Strange thing is, if I'm on wifi, it works fine. 3G, no go. I don't have the tethering plan with Verizon, could they be blocking FTP connections?

Verizon definitely is not blocking ftp ports. I'm using Andftp with out any problems. PASV is set, connecting to pureftpD on port 21. Host machine is in the router DMZ with firewall in place on the host.
