Trying to set up a SetCpu Profile on my phone.

Moto droid with sapphire1.0 stock kernel(7×125-1000LV)

any tips?

also wondering how i should set max/min for the default mode.
should i just leave it 125/1000 as it is?

You could do that for default. To really take advantage of setcpu, set up profiles for sleep, charging, and temp thresholds.

I thought having the cpu settings in the main menu meant there wasn't any point in installing setCPU?

Is setCPU built into the ROM, or would it override the settings in ROM? Wondering how CPU scaling works.

I prefer using SetCPU because it the profiles setting mode so cpu overclocks automatically in accordance to the profile settings.
wanna know the 'suitable' Min/Max frequencies(speed) for my fone+ROM to set on each profiles(when charging, sleeping, etc) and also for default.
I dont think SetCPU can override, so decided to disable the stock CPU control scaling.

In order from highest priority:
All ondemand

Main 900 or 800/125 (I feel the performance diff between 800/900 and 1ghz to be negligible but the battery drain to be quite noticeable. idk my opinion)

1. Screen off 125/125 (ppl complain about this but my phone wakes fine from calls)
2. CPU Temp > 63.0C 550/125 (chip has rated threshold of 75C :D)
3. Temp > 43C 550/125 (battery heats up slower and has lower threshold)
4. Charging/Full 550/125 (I dont think this has much a difference because AFAIK 2.2 kernels automatically go to third slot when OC'ing which is 550)
5. Battery < 21% 400/125 (I throttle down as battery gets low to buy some time)
6. Battery < 41% 600/125 (same rationale as above)

Hope this helps :)

EDIT: This gets me about 7 hours of heavy use and more than 20 hours with light use.

This is a good starting point and very close to what I recommend in my overclocking thread. I use a 1Ghz LV kernel and get 24 hours with no issues.

appreciate it. just set my profiles same as above.
also little bit concerned about the setting 125/125 for screen off cos iv found my phone lags when i try to answer the fone by scrolling the answer button.
i dont no if that has something to do with cpu settings. it happend before and after the phone got rooted. i will give it a try though.
never knew that chip threshold of 75C. good info.
i think its really good settings for profiles! thank you!!

I actually use 125/400 when in Sleep/Standby if I want to make sure there is very little lag waking up. I use 125/800 for no lag waking up.

I read this earlier today... not specific for Sapphire, but I'm trying it out

Your temp override doesn't allow the temps to fall fast enough, I recommend at least setting the minimum to 250Mhz to allow the CPU more room to work with.

Not to mention I believe ive read that battery threshold is close to 50C in which case you'd want to start throttling down a little earlier (i.e 45C)
