So I know how to change sounds for all other programs ie: Gmail, Alarms, Calendar, etc...
But can you have one sound for sms and a different for mms?
Haven't been able to find that option in handcent or stock messaging

This worked for me on my Droid Incredible:

First (to set default/email sound):
1. Go to Settings>click Sound & display.
2. Scroll down>click Notification Sound>select which sound you want>click OK.
3. Closeout of settings.

Second (to set sms and vmail sounds):
1. Go to Messages>click the Menu Soft Key>click Settings.
2. Scroll down to headings of "Received Messages", "Sent Messages", Vmail Notification".
3. To customize each sound heading, scroll down to each header.
4. Click Notification Sound>select which sound you want>click OK.
5. Closeout of message settings.

Third (to set up calendar sound):
1. Go to Calendar>Menu Soft Key>click More.
2. Click Settings>click Reminder Settings.
3. Click Ringtone>select which sound you want>click OK.
4. Closeout of calendar settings.

There may be other ways to do, but this worked for me :)

Thanks but I know all this, I'm talking about 1 sound for text messages and a seperate sound for picture messages, don't think it can be done with handcent or stock messaging app.

Thanks for your input though

I can't figure out how to do that either and it is something I really miss from my Blackberry....but my Incredible goes one further. It never even notifies me at all of incoming MMS. No sound. Nothing in the notification bar. I just find them when I open the messages to answer an SMS or send one. This is driving me crazy, and I can't see anywhere to set it...the sound is fine when I get an SMS. MMS...I get zip!
