Downloaded a theme, put it on my phone thru SPRecov, than AFTER i installed it i realized...it wasn't meant for sapphire (stupid mistake i know)....so now I can't get past the sapphire loading screen (gem) it just loops...I never made any backups before either which at this point im feeling extremely stupid..

Is there any way to fix this? trying to get this fixed asap if I could because I'm on leave right now and I deploy soon (military) so I need this in case I have to go sooner than expected which happens alot...I have an alt cell but its not my primary.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Ugh, this is a tough one. I am not too familiar with SPR (I use ROM Manager), but I assume you have named the theme file to update.zip?
What did you do with the sapphire 1.0 zip file? Could you possible try installing that again with SPR?

Get the Sapphire ROM.zip file on the root of your SD card via computer and card reader, make sure it is named update.zip, boot into recovery by holding power and X from a powered down state and reinstall Sapphire, next time make a back-up first

@tparker - just out of my own personal curiosity, will he be able to do that being that he is stuck in boot loop. Don't you need to mount the phone in order to access the SD card?
Not disputing your advice, just trying to learn myself. Never know when this kind of info will come in handy :)

The sapphire file was also renamed update, so I deleted that a long time ago and put the theme on under update. I haven't done anything to my phone in a long time so it just slipped my mind to look at what the theme was even for =/

If I could get the sapphire thing back on my phone (i didnt even know there was 1.0 out lol..) i could do that but theres no way that I know to put files on the card without it being on and functioning you know?

Oh right...he said card reader...guess I gotta go look for a stupid specific card reader. Oh well my fault right. wish it was easier than that...or less expensive i mean lol.

Just goes to show the importance of a Nandroid Back-Up

Came into this thread a little late, but you do know you can mount the sdcard to the computer while in sprecovery? You can then rename the theme update.zip and load the rom and rename it update.zip. Unmount sdcard and then install rom and go from there.

Very good t know!! Thanks for sharing that; that's the sort of thing that could prevent me from completely freaking out one day - LOL

BTW, this is the first honest thread title I've seen. Didn't you know you were supposed to post something like: Sprecovery Screwed Me, or SpRecovery Bug, or Why Doesn't Sprecovery Automatically Do Backups?

Hope it all works out for you. :)
