Screen going black when making phone calls

Hi, I just got my D2 a couple days ago and am adjusting to it from my blackberry i used to have. One thing that bothers me though is that when i make a phone call the screen will power off due to inactivity just like it would when im not on the phone, so when that happens and i want to get back into my phone during a call i have to push the top button and re-enter my password again to get back in again. Is there a setting to disable the phone from doing this while on a call?? Thanks!

Mine does the same, but I don't have to unlock it. Simply change when how long you want your screen to wait before locking in the settings. The downside is now you have to personally lock your phone every time you switch. There is no just for phone calls setup that I could find.

The Droid 2 is supposed to have a proximity sensor so that the screen turns off when you put the phone up to your ear. It turns back on a second or so after you pull it away from your ear. Could this be what you are talking about?

Yeah, my d2 turns on the screen right when i pull it away from my ear.. every time without fail. I think it works great. It's a HUGE improvement over my old windows mobile phone.

yeap mine does that as well. i like that it does that too. big plus i think.

Mine "sort of" works. The screen lights back up when I take the phone away from my face, but most of the time it only stays lit for may 2 seconds and will then go back off again before I can even touch the screen. Pretty aggravating.

Screebl rocks, I just got it bc I saw that post, watch the video after u dl it, makes it easier to understand, but it works great. When ur using the phone its on, when ur not it hibernates

My DInc was having the same issue. I was unable to enter passcodes for voice mailbox to check my messages (aggravating).
