Screen doesn't dim while on a call

I noticed it today; it use to dim until I would pull my face away from the screen and now it doesn't. I can't seem to find out where I'm suppose to change that.

The screen is almost impossible to see when I'm outside. I can turn the brightness up but that will just EAT the battery.

I noticed mine doing this the other day when I cheek hung up on someone. The proximity sensor is in the upper left corner of screen. It was an intermittent problem.

It happened again when I was in verizon so I asked the rep. He mentioned that he had seen it before and it had something to do with using the bluetooth. After reset it works fine.

I have got into the routine of just clicking the top button when on phone to make sure the screen shuts off.
