Just tried installing the 1.0 ROM.

Did my backup, thank goodness, then cleared/factor rest the device then ran the update.zip.

This is where it failed.

as soon as update.zip ran I got

assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") =="sholes" II
getprop("ro.build.product") =="sholes"
E:error in /sdcard/update.zip
(status 7)

The closest I could find was a similar error trying to insyall .85 using clockwork but it wasn't an identical error.

Any thoughts?

I found Sapphire because of a twitter post about a new Droid X ROM and on the page for 1.0.0 down near the bottom there are themes listed to work with the DX but I can't find a supported device list.

The Sapphire shown on DX is a proof of concept.... not a full ROM.

That explains it. Guess I shouldn't be so quick to throw a ROM on this thing. I'm just too used to hybrids on my Storm 2 and I'm itching to mod :) Thanks guys.

And for future reference, it is called Obsidian :)

Droid 1 - Sapphire (current release 1.0.0, also 1.0.5 beta floating around...)

Droid Inc - Ruby (private beta, close to release)

Droid X - Obsidian (private pre-alpha)

Evo 4G - Emerald (only have the vendor setup and kernel, no real build yet)

There is no actual build for the evo yet that i know of, but with such similar hardware as the Inc, he decided to set it up and see what he could do.

Before i try it does the new 1.1 released yesterday support the Droid X? With all of the excellent documentation on the site nothing is said about which device it supports.

There is no support for the droid x. Currently it's only droid1 and incredible

Sapphire s for Droid 1 only. Each device has its own thing (for instance the Incredible is Ruby, but the same user experience as Sapphire) DX will be getting its own build as soon as the team gets a DX to test on (very very soon)
