Samsung Stellar--Seeking a Vlingo-like app

Hello: I used Vlingo successfully for two years, then upgraded and tried to use it on my new Stellar and it says it's incompatible. All I want is an app that reads me my email when I'm across the room or on the road. Any suggestions?

Too many Vlingo comments that the app takes over the phone

well, I used to like Vlingo, but now it says it won't work on an ios1 system. My husband said everyone says it takes over the phone and makes it unbearable anyway, so if there are any other apps compatible with Stellar to read me email, I'd appreciate suggestions.
